Archer adds another string to his bow

Bairnsdale Academy member Archer has started his work placement on Fridays with local sign writer Craig Dykes and his team at Sign Line.

Arch jumped at the opportunity when it became available, as he doesn't really know what pathway he wants to pursue in the future. Arch is willing to try all types of different jobs over the rest of his school journey which will give him the best chance possible to find something he likes moving forward. Arch has relocated to the area and has been really open about his lack of engagement at school over the last two years with Covid, along with many other challenges he has had to overcome to get back to school. Since joining the Academy Arch has been a ripper to be around and watching him grow and challenge himself has been a real positive for the whole Academy.

Craig has run his own business for over two decades, providing many young people in our area with opportunities in the sign writing and graphic design industry. Craig and his team will be awesome role models for Arch helping him understand the industry and providing a safe inclusive workplace to thrive.
