Sport around the School

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of walking around the school yard at lunch time. It was wonderful to see so many students up and being physically active. There were groups playing 4 square, table tennis, kicking footballs, playing basketball and quite an elaborate game of tips was happening around the whole school too.

We are working towards having another table tennis table installed on the junior side of the school, as well as a roller skating club starting next term. See Compass for the Expression of Interest for roller skating, places will be limited.

If anyone has any suggestions or requests for lunch time activities and equipment, please come and see me. I’ll do everything I can to keep our school active.

GippSport: Our links with GippSport are strengthening as the program develops, if you have any requests for a Term 4 sport, please let Sam Poynton know. We have a selected group of senior boys that are working in conjunction with GippSport to ensure that the program for kids is driven by kids.

  • Year 7 and 8 students are invited to participate Friday lunch times.
  • Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students are invited to participate Thursday lunch times.

GippSport has recently started a program in conjunction with our G@C team. So far, the girls have played Year 9 footy, ultimate frisbee, basketball and minor games.

Reminders

Return Uniforms ASAP

We are doing a stocktake of all our BSC sport uniforms this week, so if you have one that you have not yet returned, please do so as soon as possible. These can be returned to either Sam Poynton or Renee Barry.

Compass Permissions

The online permission system through the Compass portal is working very well so far. All sport events that require parent/carer permission will be submitted through Compass. Parents/Carers will be notified that their child has been selected into a sport, and to then follow the prompts to complete the permission under ‘event invites’. If students require a paper copy of the permissions, they can see their respective Hub.

For any questions about school sport, please see Sam Poynton or Renee Barry.
