Dear Parents / Carers,

This is my last newsletter report as I am moving on at the end of this term. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to take a small part of my journey with the Rowville Primary School community and to learn with and from you all. I have learned so much in my time here and certainly will be taking my newfound perspectives about school leadership and teaching and learning onto my next leadership role. Anne has been a generous mentor and through working with her and Tiffany I have learned what a truly high functioning primary school looks like.

I started here with some trepidation about working with ‘little’ people but it has been an absolute joy to work with children with a thirst for knowledge and genuine curiosity before puberty kicks in and literally makes some of them ‘too cool for school’. When I think back over my time here there were so many amazing moments, but I think my favourite was the day of being the garden teacher and having the pleasure of introducing our new baby chicks to our Foundation and Year 2 students. The looks of delight on the children's faces combined with the complete respect they showed those tiny little babies will stay with me for a long time.

Rowville Primary School has amazing staff and I would like to assure parents that I have seen some of the best teachers of my long career in education at this school. This culture is spreading as the team work so well together to ensure all students have a great learning experience. I will miss this community as I move forward onto my next stage but am so grateful to have been welcomed into the fold.

Thank you to all of the students, staff and parents, you have been fantastic to work with.

Signing off,

Catherine Ford
