Connecting Community Program

 Some of our students visited the Years 1 and 2 students of Sacred Heart Primary School to give to them a book we had made for them.  The book contains the paintings completed by the Years 1 and 2 students and some Academy students who spent time together recently reflecting on the parts of our local neighborhood, Fitzroy, that stand out for us.  We look forward to our relationship continuing with shared times ahead.

Mercy Fundraising Term 3

In term three we celebrate being a Mercy school and work together to take action for Mercy organizations. This year, we continue to focus on McAuley Community Services for Women who work with women and their families who have experienced domestic violence and homelessness. We are also raising awareness of and funds for Mercy Works, Mercy Works is a not-for-profit charity organisation supporting long term development projects in Australia and the South-East Asia Pacific region, including Papua New Guinea, The Philippines and Timor-Leste. raising funds. Fundraising Activities

We have enjoyed a number of food stalls and raffles to raise money.  Here are pictures from Justice Group’s cake stall.

Academy Mentor groups will work to raise funds for  McAuley Community Services for Women & Mercy Works  as well as our neighbours, St Mary’s House of Welcome. Mentor Groups are invited to create fundraising activities.  Families are invited to support this action in the coming weeks.  This can also be done by uploading money to the Academy bank link any time this term.
