Meet our coaches - Sebastian Randello

Josip Loncaric

Joining our coaching team in 2020, Sebastian Randello is no stranger to Keilor Downs College, having graduated year 12 in 2017. An avid AFL footballer and passionate Arsenal fan, Seb took the path of completing a Victorian Certificate of Education before deciding that he wanted to pursue a career in teaching.

Following his year 12 completion, Seb went on to complete a Diploma of Sports Development before pursuing further education at University.

An energetic, kind-hearted, and flexible coach, Seb has been a positive influence on our students and his belief in our philosophy makes him a terrific role model for our students.

KDCSS - What are you doing with yourself in 2021 Seb?

SR - I’m studying a Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports Science at Victoria University, with the hope of becoming a PE teacher. I have an AFL background but have always had an interest in soccer and wanted to challenge myself by starting my coaching career in a foreign sport to what I know as I believe learning multiple codes of sport will benefit any teaching and coaching career styles."

KDCSS - Sounds exciting. Which club do you support and who is your favourite player?

SR - "My favourite club is Arsenal FC and my favourite player is Kieran Teirney, he is the main reason I sacrifice my sleep to watch Arsenal."

KDCSS - The Gunners have had a tough start to the season but I'm sure they will bounce back. What are your future aspirations in soccer?

SR - "I want to grow as a person and coach using soccer to help me find new and innovative ways to improve my coaching techniques."

KDCSS - Fantastic. We have definitely seen growth and development in the short time you have been with us. What do you most enjoy about being a coach at the KDC Soccer School?

SR - The best thing about coaching at KDC is that the students are always willing to learn and all of the coaches around me are willing to help me understand the sport better. They are always helping me learn new techniques to use when I’m coaching individual sessions. On a personal level,  I look up to Kata (Goerge Katiforis) and (Josip) Loncaricboth taught me when I was a student at the school and it’s a true honour to learn from them and work with them.

KDCSS - We look forward to working with you for many years and watching you develop yourself as a person and a coach alongside our KDC family.
