Secondary News

Mr. Richard Hardy - Dean of Academic Administration

Covid restrictions have eased a little allowing the students to remove masks outside and enjoy the fresh air and conversations without muffled voices. The highlight of this week has been the high quality of speeches provided by our Year 11 students who have applied for various captain’s positions for 2022.

Henderson House organized a soup lunch today as a fundraiser for the Amar Seva Sangam, which is a school that supports and educates disadvantaged and disabled students in India. Students and staff had a choice of Pumpkin, Minestrone, Sweet corn and Chicken. Thank you to all those that cooked and prepared this delicious meal on a cool day. It was well-received.

We look forward to the 13 applicants who will be presenting tomorrow to be one of the two College Captains for next year.

There is only one more week next week for Year 11 and 12 students to finalise their preparations with the block examinations commencing Week 9. We wish the girls all the best with these examinations.

Year 12 parents are reminded that there will be a series of mock examinations for Year 12 students occurring at school in the second week of the September school holidays. The schedule will be sent home tomorrow.

Uniform

Blazers with the Winter uniform will be optional during the week commencing Monday 30 August. The Summer uniform will be compulsory from Monday 6 September. Please check in advance that hemlines fall to mid-knee or below.

Policies and Processes

The College has been reviewing Policy and Process procedures with the transition to an online system; Complispace. One of the processes that has been under review is the Complaints Process. A revised, online form can be accessed via the link on the website under Policies or via Parent Lounge. Students will also be able to access it via Student Café. You can view the form here.

The form requires an email address and the details of the complaint to be filled in. All other fields are optional. After submitting the form, an automated confirmation is sent to the email address that has been entered. The appropriate member of staff will be notified of the details submitted in your complaint and will be in contact with you to discuss your concerns and investigate further if required.

The introduction of this online process will ensure your feedback reaches the right place and staff member in a timely manner and will allow us to respond quickly and effectively to any concerns raised.

You are of course very welcome to contact the College via email or phone and to schedule a meeting at your convenience.
