Boarding News

Welcome Back Everyone

Boarding has resumed with a flurry of activity with some of our Year 9 Boarders arriving and leaving straight away to camp. I look forward to hearing their stories of survival after nine days on the Larapinta and in the surrounds.

Drum roll please……………… We have two new boarding parents in the Girls Boarding House! Jasmine Falwasser, is employed as a full time Senior Boarding Supervisor. Jasmine comes to us with a lot of experience, she even supervised Delisha as a junior, when Delisha went to another boarding college. Jasmine is already a huge asset to boarding and I encourage all guardians to drop by and introduce yourself to her when you are in “town”. The other House parent is night time supervisor Natalie Kent. Natalie is new to boarding but is looking forward to meeting all the crew and learning about everyone and everything. (She has only been with us a week).

During the week all boarders have resumed a variety of activities both within the College and in the wider community. Special mention and best wishes to all our budding AFL superstars who are heading into finals soon in the “Town Comp”. Also, congratulations to our ladies who played in the first round of the schools’ competition where the Bentley Bombers came away with a win against CSC. Special mention to Boarding Supervisor and Coach, Trent McIntyre.

Monday was a public holiday for Picnic Day and saw the introduction of Geocaching as an activity for the boarders. They accept the challenge to decipher the clues, plot the destination and search for the secret cache. Congratulations to Sazkoda who found our first ever Geocache in the Old Stuart Graveyard and Jason who found the prize at the Telegraph Station. It was a case of two out of three, with the third being hidden less than 200m from the Boarding House and still not found … much to everyone’s frustration.

Just a reminder to all our guardians, friends and relatives that you are more than welcome to visit and have dinner with us.

Please feel free to give me a call anytime 0448 806 516 if you would like to join us for a meal or if you have any queries.

Boarding where fun, learning and new experiences come together in the one place.
