CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE@CSPS
What a great concept to focus on this term coming out of another hard lockdown to finish the year. POSSIBILITY focuses on the ideas of innovation and creativity. Each sub school has taken this concept and shaped it into fun learning, developing the skills of questioning, research, and design including different technologies. You may have seen some creative remote learning activities already!
Students and staff have been working hard as we have returned Remote Learning for the beginning of Term 4.
In Term 3 we implemented a variety of ‘Fun Friday’ activities that were designed to promote engagement and focus on the wellbeing of students and our community. The response from families to these Wellbeing activities were positive and the participation rates were high.
As we move through the Return to School Roadmap from Remote Learning to the return to onsite learning we will continue to focus on the Teaching and Learning and Wellbeing of all students. A return to face-to-face learning will be a transition for all students and staff.
Many students experienced a disconnection from school throughout the prolonged lock down. When returning to onsite learning staff will implement throughout term-four, a focus on strong relationships and enjoyment at school whilst working on academic skills. Wellbeing, connection and belonging are the foundations on which successful learning will be built beyond 2020 and 2021. Education has many purposes, and right now we need to understand that social outcomes are equally as important as a focus on numeracy and literacy skills.
In the same way we might consider a return to school after a holiday, or a return to school after alternative learning arrangements, teachers need to respond to this variety, re-establish their relationships, and rebuild their rapport and trust whilst at school.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child and their return to onsite learning please contact your classroom teacher via email.
2021 Year 3 and 5 NAPLAN results are available via Compass. Please check your child's results where you find Semester reports. If you have any questions about NAPLAN please contact your classroom teacher.
To access these results, please follow the instructions outlined in this attached document.
Unfortunately we are unable to run our remaining transition days onsite due to restrictions, therefore the next 3 sessions will be run via Google Meet with lots of fun activities.
All sessions will begin at 11.15am
All sessions will have the same link :https://meet.google.com/cui-ihfi-tbv
Items to have ready: paper, pencils, markers, grey-lead pencil (if you have one). Please also put together a large, clear sign with your child’s name, to be displayed during the sessions.
NEW ONSITE SESSION - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2021 at 9.30 - 10:30am
With the ongoing restrictions of essential persons onsite during November, we have scheduled an extra transition session in December which will allow us to have your child/ren onsite.
This time will be spent taking the children through their classrooms for 2022. A walking tour of the school, a play on the playgrounds, and so much more so they can become familiar prior to starting next year.
Your child/ren will receive a transition pack containing information and fun activities to complete over the summer break if they wish, along with the details of who their classroom teacher will be for 2022.
So please pencil this in your calendar, as we’d really like to spend some quality face to face time with your child/ren. Tea and coffee will be available for parents that choose to wait onsite (you are most welcome to leave and return if you prefer).
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
