Winter Uniforms

We are pleased to inform families that blazers and tracksuit tops have now arrived and are available at the Uniform Shop. It is therefore an expectation that all students will be able to comply with the requirements to wear the blazer to and from school every day. We are still waiting for delivery of College tracksuit pants which have been delayed due to Covid restrictions.

With the Inter-House Athletics Carnival scheduled for Wednesday 18 August, it may be an opportune time to check that tracksuits and House shirts are in good condition.

Please ensure that all uniform items are clearly labelled.

The winter trading hours for the Uniform Shop are currently Mondays and Thursdays 1:00pm – 4:30pm. Please note that ties, socks and tights are available for purchase anytime from the Café and Student Services. Orders and enquiries can be made via email uniform.shop@norbert.wa.edu.au

Year 7 and New Students for 2022 Information Evening

A reminder that on Wednesday, 1 September, St Norbert College will be holding a Year 7 and New Students Information Evening for all students commencing in 2022. The information evening provides families with important information about the transition program to assist current Year 6 students and students in other year groups commencing at St Norbert College next year. Both students and at least one parent/carer are required to attend the evening which commences at 6.00pm in the Fr Peter O’Reilly Centre. After an introduction to the whole group, families will then be split into smaller groups for some more informal presentations and discussion about what students can expect when they commence next year and how they can best prepare for this transition.

Elective Selections for 2022

Students in Years 7 – 9 are currently completing the selection of preferred electives for next year. Students have been provided details regarding how to access Subject Selection Online (SSO) and complete this process. The closing dates for Subject Selection Online are:

Year 7: Monday, 23 August

Year 8: Monday, 16 August

Year 9: Monday, 16 August

Once their selections are finalised, students need to print a copy their selections and hand it to Student Services. These printouts need to be signed by both the student and a parent.

Year 10 Course Counselling

This coming Tuesday 10 August, Year 10 students and their parents will participate in Course Counselling interviews as the final step in selecting their subjects for Year 11 next year. These interviews will take after school in the BP Forum. The appointment times were emailed to students and their parents at the end of Term Two. Students will need to bring a print out of their completed subject selection to the interview. Subject Selection Online for Year 10 students closes this afternoon at 4.00pm.

Year 12 Information

SCSA Handbooks (Part I and II) are available on SEQTA Documents. They are an excellent reference for all important information regarding graduation, examinations, student information and certification. In the coming weeks, students will be provided with an Organisational Booklet that takes them through the key events and information that they will need to prepare for in the lead up to Graduation and final examinations. The arrangements for Year 12 Graduation are proceeding well with Mr Ah Fong and the Graduation Committee doing an amazing amount of work.

Some of the important dates that Year 12 students and their families need to plan for are listed below:

  • College ATAR Exams: 28 September – 6 October
  • ATAR students return to school Monday 11 October
  • All Year 12 students return Friday 15 October for their House Assemblies and Graduation Rehearsals. Students will be dismissed at approximately 11:10am
  • Year 12 ATAR Seminars: Monday 18 – Thursday 21 October
  • Year 12 Breakfast, Final Assembly and Graduation Mass: 22 October
  • ATAR Exams: 1 November – 19 November

Phone Calls from the College

There are many reasons why College staff may attempt to contact parents – to answer academic questions, to discuss student behaviour, to inform parents of important opportunities for their children or to provide some positive feedback on student efforts. Sometimes, the College needs to contact parents for urgent issues – usually an unexpected injury or alike. In these situations, the Administration Staff will call using the College number of (08) 9350 5433. We recommend that parents enter this number into their mobile phones so that they are aware when a member of the College is calling them. It might not always be an urgent issue, but it is always good to know when the College is attempting to make contact.
