Year 10 Biology First Aid Training
On Wednesday October 17th, the Year 10 Biology class undertook an all-day CPR and First Aid course. The course covered a large number of topics, from treating broken bones to administering Epipens to
treat anaphylaxis. We also got the chance to practice CPR on a range of dummies and were walked through how to correctly utilise the DRS ABCD first aid acronym. By running through emergency scenarios the whole class has received a newfound confidence in our ability to remain calm under difficult circumstances and employ simple yet life-saving techniques in the real world. And whilst we will all have the phrase, “I’m a First Aider, my name is John” stuck in our heads from now on, the training we received was invaluable to us both as students, and future employees.
