Cross Country Runners

A big congratulations to our cross country runners who ran in the wind, rain, sun and everything in between!  All students put in a mighty effort and performed extremely well.  As a result, Buninyong placed 3rd to Ballarat Grammar and Ballarat Clarendon College.

 

18 of our 24 runners have made it through to the next round at Division this Friday and we wish them very best.

 

A big thank you goes out to Belinda, Amaya, Lynsey and Naomi who helped look after our team on Wednesday (even bringing along a much welcomed hot chocolate for everyone who took part).  Loads of parents were able to make it at various times to cheer our school on which is greatly appreciated!  Thank you to everyone involved!

Lunchtime Clinics

 Due to some funding from Sporting Schools, we are pleased to be running three lunchtime clinics this term for the following sports.  All students in the relevant year groups are welcome to attend.  There is no cost for these and we encourage anyone interested to attend.  Please make sure clean, dry sports shoes are brought on these days:

  • Prep – Grade 2 THROWING AND CATCHING (Softball focus)– Fridays, 31 May – 21 June, 2019.
  • Grade 3-4 BADMINTON – Wednesdays, 5 June – 26 June, 2019.
  • Grade 5+6 NRL (Touch Rugby flavour) – Thursdays, 16 May – 6 June, 2019.
  • Scotsburn will also be running AFL clinics on Thursdays, 16 May – 6 June.   

AFL, Soccer and Netball District Team Selection

A big congratulations to all the students who tried out for the District Netball, AFL and Soccer teams.  It was great to see the level of interest in the sports.  We would like to announce the following teams who have been selected for the competition:

If you have any questions regarding selections, please speak to the staff member involved. 

 

Those who have been selected for the team will be expected to attending training on the following days:

Netball – Friday 24th May at lunchtime (please bring clean dry sports shoes)

Girls Soccer – Monday 20th May at lunchtime

Boys Soccer – Tuesday 21st May at lunchtime

Girls AFL – Monday 20th May at lunchtime on the oval

Boys AFL – Friday 24th May at lunchtime on the oval

School Futsal Teams

Thanks to everyone who tried out for the futsal teams.  Below are the teams who will take part in the competition on 27th May with Mr Georgiou and Mr Micallef.

Permission forms with further details will be sent home over the next few days.  Please return payment and forms to the office before the deadline.

Netballers wanted

The afterschool Grade 3-4 teams are looking for 2 additional students interested in playing on Tuesday afternoons this term at Ballarat Netball Association.  Please contact Claire Morris for more information.

P.E. Shoes

A reminder that students need to have clean, dry sports shoes for P.E.  We recommend bringing a spare pair to school to ensure maximum participation in class, particularly in Term 2+3 when the weather is a bit wetter.  To find out when your child has P.E., please check your Compass portal.
