Walk Safely to School Day - May 17

Walk Safely to School Day is coming up on May 17 and we’re encouraging the kids and their families to walk up to school in a safe manner. To support this, we will have a group of staff who will be walking up to the school from the Buninyong Foodworks. The walk will depart at 8:30am and we should arrive at school at 8:45am (just in time for a quick play before heading into class).

We look forward to seeing as many students braving the cold and walking up together to support the day and healthy living.

Emergency Management Practice Drill - Lockdown This Week

This week, the staff and students will be undertaking an emergency management drill to ensure that everyone knows what to do in an emergency situation. Whilst these drills can be tough for some kids, it is important to remember the reason for practice… Keeping them safe.

The drill will be a lockdown and we will be encouraging all staff to talk with their kids prior to the drill about the many reasons that we can go into lockdown (that doesn’t scare the pants off them). These include a dangerous animal and extreme weather conditions.

To help with this, we ask that parents have a brief discussion with their children to help remind them that the drill is about keeping them safe.
