Principal's Report

MOTHER’S DAY

We hope all the mums out there were spoilt on Sunday.  Thanks to Mrs Sullivan and her many helpers who ran the Mother’s Day Stall on Friday and also to those who organised the afternoon tea for our grade 6 mums.  These initiatives are nice ways of encouraging our children to think about those who take care of them and showing gratitude.

The Mother’s Day stall was very busy last week with students excited to do their shopping and choose their special gifts. We hope you love what they picked!

PREP ENROLMENTS FOR 2020

If you have a prep to enrol for 2020, please get your paper work in soon.  It certainly helps us with our planning when prep enrolments are in nice and early.

PLP MEETING ON MAY 16

A reminder that we have a PLP Meeting coming up on Thursday where we’ll be discussing the school review and uniform.

Everyone is invited to come along to any of the PLP meetings, especially if you see the topics are of interest.  We know lots of people have views on uniform, so feel free to come along or to send your thoughts through to the meeting via your PLP rep or myself.  As mentioned last week, please don’t be concerned that anyone is planning wholesale changes to the uniform.  It’s now 6 years since the uniform policy was reviewed, so it’s probably time to do this again.  We’ll certainly be seeking your views along the way.

LOOKING FOR BASE 1270 STAFF

Our Outside of School Hours program is going really well.  As such, we are now at capacity (50 students) most nights and have anywhere between 15-25 students in the mornings.

This of course means the demand for staff has increased and we are looking to build our bank of casual staff.  If working in an Outside of School Hours Care is something that interests you, please give me a call.  Likewise, if you know of someone who might be interested, please encourage them to give me a call.

To work in an Outside of School Hours Program, you require a qualification in one of the following:

  • Cert 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Cert 3 in Education Support
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • And many others which are detailed below, (click on pic to enlarge)
