Silly Sock Day

Dear Students, Parents and Caregivers,

On Friday, November 2nd, we had a Silly Sock Day at school to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) which is an organisation that enables very ill children to have their families by their side while they go through long stints in the hospital, receiving treatment for their ailments.

Students were able to wear ANY socks to school for a gold coin donation and there were prizes for the best socks in each classroom and one Grand Prize for the best socks in the entire school. I was rather impressed by many students who went the extra mile and decorated their own socks with pipe cleaners, googly eyes and even pompoms.

The Grand Prize was a family pass to the Bell Tower in Perth City, worth $54! It was very hard to judge my favourite socks when there were so many students who made a lot of effort, but in the end, Logan Perry from year 2 took the cake with his spider socks!

I want to thank everyone who participated in the event as we managed to raise a huge $302.85 for RMHC! Children suffering will be eternally grateful for this kind donation!

Thankyou all,

Larissa Hames
