PARENT SURVEY

Results have been received from our 2013 Parent Opinion Survey.  Families were randomly selected to respond to this survey and the results are very, very pleasing.  Thank you to all families who participated.  Your feedback enables us to reflect and make improvements.  Parent confidence in our school vision, values and commitment is very reassuring.  Our staff work tirelessly to bring about the best educational outcomes for students and the confidence, gratitude and support that is demonstrated by parents is much appreciated.

CLASS OF 2014

Our Class of 2014 finished well.  Festivities at school were entertaining and enjoyed by staff and students.  The dress up day was colourful and creative and the Year 12 Assembly showcased talent and was a fitting conclusion.  We obviously farewelled the students in a formal manner with the Valedictory held at the Crown Palladium and the evening was enjoyed by students, parents and teachers.

I would like to acknowledge the senior team for their support of the Class of 2014:

Michael Kan, Ashley Evans, Lachlan Noble, Kellie Felmingham, Chris Hudd, Eddie Mest and Effie Avaras.

ART EXHIBITION

Our Year 12 Studio Art students showcased their art work in a most spectacular manner.  A real art exhibition in a real gallery.  Parents, Grandparents, friends and teachers all gathered to see our students’ work hanging in a real gallery.  It was a great exhibition and I know it make a significant difference for all the students.

I sincerely thank Robyn Pryor for her dedication and passion in enabling this exhibition to be possible.

I also acknowledge and thank Connie and Karen from Louey and Lane Gallery in Glen Huntly for demonstrating wonderful community values.

THISTLELONIAN REUNION

This annual event was held again on Saturday 25 October and it was a very successful evening.  It really is a point of difference for McKinnon.

The Thistlelonian committee work tirelessly to make this event possible.

Having ex-students back is truly heart-warming and brings all an opportunity to connect and share great memories.  The atmosphere and laughter was wonderful.

In particular I would like to thank and acknowledge Geoff Woolnough, Pam Dickfos, Jenny Cooke, Ian Jackson, Jo Wade, Helen Naylor, Lee Xanthoudakis, Eddie Mest, Les McLeod, Jason Evans, Andrew Newton, Michael Kan and Ash Evans.  It is a team effort.  I also appreciate our teachers who attend and who enjoy the conversation with so many ex-students.
