Update from the Technology Domain 

Students at Koonung College have fantastic opportunities to develop their technological skills across a vast array of technology based subject areas offered at Koonung College.

For example, in Year 9, the Micro: Bit solutions students are designing a board game, centred around an electronic microcontroller. Year 10 Game Development students are building interactive 3D ‘cube racer’ games and Year 11 Computing students are developing research tools for data collection.

Did you know that an astronaut’s inflight space suit is made of cotton? Our year 7s will, as they complete a cotton investigation project in their textiles class. 

In Food Technology our students are travelling the world in 6 dishes. Students decide on an itinerary and take off on a journey of culinary exploration, culminating with a gourmet celebration and feast at lunchtime.

In Wood Technology, the year 8s have created ‘safety in the wood technology room’ short films. Students have researched, scripted, directed and edited their own films in collaboration with their peers. We can’t wait to showcase these films at our Technology festival later in the year.
