2B in 2019
2B were excited to make spaghetti from scratch to investigate length this term. It was intriguing to guess what the flour and eggs would become. Many guessed cake but we were missing ingredients. It was fun to watch the dough become longer and longer by rolling through the machine and there were squeals of delight when it was rolled through the spaghetti cutter. Some pieces of spaghetti were 2 metres long!
KB and Role Play
KB have been doing lots of role play and learning about ourselves and all of the different opportunities we have. We have been thinking about the jobs we could do when we grow up. KB have also started learning their sounds and enjoyed making some popcorn ‘p’s?? The children got to enjoy eating some popcorn after their craft was finished. :)

2018 - Whizzy Water Drop visit
On Wednesday, 24 October Whizzy Water Drop visited the Infants Department. He taught us many ways to reduce our use of single use plastic. Whizzy really encouraged us to not buy water in single use bottles. Washing and reusing single use bottles can have some serious health risks. Using refillable bottles is better for people, animals and the environment. You may find it useful to down load the free “Choose Tap” app, which will give you the location of free water bottle refill stations as you travel.
Stories from 1M
Today Whizzy taught us NOT! to buy (single use) plastic bottles and reuse them because they can get bacteria IN THEM! IT takes 450 years to break plastic bottles down. Get the tap app. It will help you find toilets and water (refill stations) where ever you go. Samuel Mitchell 1M
Today Whizzy taught us to buy reusable bottles because you can reuse them. They don’t break down when you wash them. If you wash single use bottles they break down and the plastic will get stuck in your neck! Lukaz Oakenfull
2018 - 2B
On a Treasure Hunt in Mathematics, they used their knowledge of position and direction to find number sentences. Teams then solved their number sentences. It was a great team work experience.
Dr Ireson, Raphael’s dad, came to talk to us this term. He helped answer our History question, ‘How has technology changed to allow community workers to do their job better?’
‘Up, Down, All Around’ is our Science unit. We used chocolate biscuits to explore the phases of the moon.
2B created gardens for the robots to explore. Students programmed the robots to travel to different features of each garden.
2018 - Kinder to Year 2 had a visit from Fireman Peter and friends
They helped us answer our History question: how has technology changed to help community workers do their jobs better?
