Crazy Crafters
On Fridays at lunch in the ISC, Mrs Tindall, Mrs Ruth Sumpner and Maitrix Sumpner-Johnston run a crazy crafter group for Year 6 and High School students. During this time students have the opportunity to learn different craft skills. Last term, students learnt the art of felting and crocheting. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate both Drew Sumpner-Johnston and Jordan Wilkes for their creative works and their success in both the Taree and Camden Valley Show.

2018 RUAWAREWECARE - Showing our Farmers we care campaign
Dear David (Coleman),
I write on behalf of the farmers of the Dungowan Valley to thank the students at your school for their beautiful letters and drawings. They showed compassion and empathy and brought tears to our eyes! Their thoughtfulness is real Christianity in action.
On the 6th October, the local Dungowan Hall Committee organised a “Mates Muster” for the community to come together for a social afternoon and evening at this very difficult time of severe drought. We decorated the walls of the hall with the letters and drawings and each family was given a letter or drawing to take home with them. The function was an outstanding success and really lifted our spirits.
May God continue to bless the students and staff of your very caring school.
Sincere thanks for this very meaningful gesture.

Thank you so much for supporting us in this opportunity to show Jesus' love in a real tangible way.

Councellors Corner
Just a brief intro from the Counsellors for 2019 – Jessica Ridley and Wendy Fowler.
Jessica has been on the teaching staff at TCC and has 9 years teaching experience. She is also a qualified Counsellor with 3 years counselling experience as well as a parent .

This can be through an email or a phone call to school reception. We will be including relevant information in the school newsletter from time to time in Counsellors. Next up will be Cyber Safety – we’re seeing some concerning incidents in this area. Please let us know if there are other topics you would like to see covered.

VIP Connect Morning Tea
On Wednesday 23 March 2019, we held a connect morning tea for our amazing volunteers who give so much to our College community, from helping in the classrooms, admin area, our Get toasted programme and so much more.
It was great hearing all the stories they had to share about the joy volunteering at TCC brings them.
We also thank the many volunteers that could not make our morning tea, you are all appreciated by the students and staff at TCC.
College Musical - "Singin in the Rain Jnr"
The word on the street – Musical Update
There is a buzz around TCC surrounding the upcoming Musical production of ‘Singin in the Rain’. Rehearsals are in full swing, while costumes, sets and production elements are all taking shape.
One of the most popular and beloved musical of all times, with its snappy songs, witty dialogue, phenomenal dance numbers, and great Hollywood story, is sure to entertain.
Our cast and crew have been working tirelessly to bring together what will be a most engaging and inspiring performance.
Thank you to all the cast and creative production crew helpers for your commitment and effort shown throughout this term. We are looking forward to another exciting term of rehearsals and production in preparation for this fantastic musical. If you are interested in being involved in some way, please don’t hesitate to contact the College Front Office staff for more details.
Look out for notifications regarding ticket sales early Term 2.
STORY LINE
Singin' in the Rain is set in the 1920’s, where the silent film actors, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont, are the stars of the time. Their on screen romance is cooked up for publicity, which backfires for Don, when he begins to fall for the talented, but feisty, Kathy Seldon. As Monumental Pictures scrambles to keep up with the times, and move from the ‘silent film’ to ‘talking productions’, RF Simpson (the Producer) is forced to face the difficulties this presents, namely a leading lady (Lina) whose voice would, as they say … “bring back the silent film”. All this takes place with tap dancing, bright lights, great singing ensembles and costumes that have you wishing you were born in this era.
Our ANZAC Day Assembly
On Thursday 11 April, we invited our friends from Wingham RSL sub-Branch to once again help us with our ANZAC Assembly. This year we received this letter at 4pm on the same day. What a pleasure it is to be able to work in with our community to help our students learn and understand the sacrifice made by these and many more men and women.
Dear David (Coleman) and Brent (Donaldson)
On behalf of the Wingham RSL sub-Branch, and personally, I wish to convey our sincere gratitude to Taree Christian College for again inviting us to participate in your ANZAC Commemorative Assembly for 2019.
Del Heuke OAM, Trevor Leggott OAM and I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the assembly today and, as always, we were most impressed with the respect and enthusiasm shown us by Staff & Students alike. It is indeed heart-warming to know that the youth are appreciative of what ANZAC represents and that we are given an opportunity to emphasise that the ANZAC spirit lives on more than 100 years after Gallipoli. We also appreciate the opportunity to relate our own personal experiences and to point out that being a member of the ADF does not only mean fighting wars.
We look forward to being able to share with you again in the future. Thank you for hosting us to lunch which really was lovely. I would also like to acknowledge the effort made by Sapphire-Grace Lentini in producing and presenting to us her drawing, which I will present to our President, Mr Terry Gould, at the earliest opportunity. Thank you Sapphire-Grace.
Yours sincerely
Tony Ryan
