Sporting Events

Primary Swimming Carnival
This year’s Primary Swimming carnival was another great success. Many students came dressed in house colours ready to cheer on their house and earn points for their house by swimming in lots of races. Praise God for great weather this year and no injuries or accidents. The cheering was well led by the new House Captains and Vice-Captains. The winning house was Bathu, who set a new record for the most number of points won through races. Congratulations, Bathu!
A big thank you to all the parents who came down and cheered on their children. Congratulations to the twelve students who qualified for the THACCCSA Zone Carnival in Newcastle and Lara Coleman and Julia Skender who advanced through to the State CSSA Carnival.
Secondary Swimming Carnival
On Wednesday February 30, we held our school swimming carnival at Manning Aquatic and Leisure Centre. The day opened with the popular house event known as ‘Hot Laps’. For this event, our three houses fight it out to get as many team members from one end of the pool to the other in 5 minutes. This was followed by the usual 50 and 100m events. All were very hotly contested. It was wonderful to see such high levels of participation in competition in all events - this is a real credit to all who attended. Other highlights included the house dance battles, which saw the one and only Russell Stanley holding nothing back with an array of Michael Jackson’s finest dance moves.
The Winning house from the day went to Guyal our red house, narrowly defeating Bathu (blue) in second, and Wipay (green) in third. Thank you to the staff, parent helpers and to the venue for an excellent day all-round.
