In praise of our Online Learners... 

St Anthony's encourages students to be curious, creative, and critical thinkers through a teaching approach that connects the values of Catholic faith to the thoughts, feelings and actions of our students.

In praise of Mannat, Chantelle and Esme from Prep Schorer and James from Prep Prince. 

All four students worked well to complete a creative thinking and oral language activity. They listened to each others' ideas, encouraged each other and created a wonderful costume for Tigger the Tiger to make him feel special. James has also been writing his name correctly!!!!! (That's a massive win for James)

In praise of Kylan and Rollvin from Prep PR for doing such beautiful reading. Miss Prince has loved watching their videos on Dojo. They also did an amazing job at their long and short vowel sounds on their Google meet. What champions!

In praise of Dorian and Sebastian from F-SC for using their great listening and speaking skills, remaining on topic when responding to interview questions. Well done Dorian and Sebastian!

In praise of Jarrod Theseira - an amazing learner all around. Jarrod adapts to learning at home and onsite at school. He is always working hard to further his knowledge in all areas and sharing this with great detail of his learning activity via Dojo. This week he was able to enjoy the experience of a virtual excursion to the Great Barrier Reef.  Well done Jarrod!

In praise of Aguet and Dhel from 5/6FI! Aguet has been a really hard-working onsite learner who hands in all of his work and challenges himself with some difficult tasks. He is particularly helpful with the Prep students who are also learning onsite. Well done Aguet.

In praise of Lan Luu from 5/6 Doyle. I would like to congratulate Lan Luu for an incredible start back to online learning. Lan has completed all her work to an excellent standard and has attended each of the Google Meet sessions each morning. It is great to see Lan putting so much effort into her tasks! Here is a snippet of her work - her sentences for our Word of the Day - "Brunch" 

 

"For Christmas morning, my family, cousins and grandparents gather for a special brunch.

My family used to go out to a restaurant to have a delicious brunch on our birthday."

In praise of Anok in 5/6 Doyle this week. I would also like to congratulate Anok who has been working hard at school. Anok has attended all of our reading groups and has ensured that she has completed all her tasks in a timely manner. Anok is also a great help whilst at school and always has a positive attitude. In praise of Jonathan D in 5/6PO for a wonderful beginning to Remote and Online Learning in Term 3. Jonathan has been fantastic at completing his learning tasks each day and asking for help when he needs it. Jonathan will attend Google Meet learning sessions to ask questions and clarify tasks. I have been very impressed with his commitment to his learning. Well done Jonathan!

In praise of Edison in 5/6PO for making a great effort to attend class meetings each day and ask for help when he needs it. Edison has been working hard to complete his tasks on Google Classroom and has been submitting his work on time. He should be very proud of his positive start to Online Learning in Term 3. In praise of Quenna in 5/6ST who promptly attends all Google Meet roll calls even if she has to travel to her farm! She always gives 100% effort to complete all tasks promptly. When online, Quenna is respectful and is mindful of waiting for others to finish speaking before she asks her questions. Well done on being Online Learner of the Week.

In praise of Joshua 5/6ST who is an enthusiastic learner who enjoys staying on Google Meet just to have a chat with his teacher. He attempts to complete all tasks that are required of him and will always ask questions if he doesn’t understand an instruction. Joshua is always mindful to wait his turn when speaking on Google Meet or sharing information. Well done Joshua on being Online Learner of the Week.

In praise of Shawn from 5/6DO! Shawn has worked really hard in Remote Learning 2.0 to be a responsible learner and has taken the initiative in using the Daily Tracker to ensure he completes all of his work in a timely manner. Keep up the great work! Well done Shawn! 

In praise of Ansh from 5/6DO for consistently completing the Word of the Day activities. He always writes sentences that show the correct meaning of the words we are working on. Here are his examples for the word "hydrate":

In praise of Nishali Fernando in 5/6PO for skillfully drawing from a photograph, your Window View of your front door. Normally not a common feature for an artwork, but Nishali has brought this part of her home to life with her artistic touch! Well done Nishali!

He enthusiastically participates in all online calls and meetings and wrote a lovely prayer to share with the class during roll call.  William efficiently navigates all tasks on Google Classroom and enjoys saying a quick hello to all his friends.
