Maths At Home

There have been many great resources released for parents to further support their children at home. The Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV) has developed resource pages for parents. The Primary Parent Support page states ‘Helping your kids to do Maths at home can be  a positive experience!  Maths is taught and learned differently by kids these days. It is about understanding the reasoning and using strategies to do Maths. Focus on thinking and having a go, not about right or wrong! These pages provide information and resources to help you support your children at home, to increase their interest and engagement in Maths. '

Tip and help sheets are focused on:

  • Maths at home. Top 5 tips for parents of primary students
  • Maths is all around you. Top 5 tips for parents
  • 7 Ways Parents Can Help Their Kids With Maths
  • There are also suggestions for ideas and activities, picture books for Maths learning and suggested apps.
