Stage 4 Restrictions: Update on School Operations

It's definitely a miserable period for us all and the weather seems to be playing it's part as well!

Anyway, I had hoped to have provided you with additional information in regards to our school's local operations in these Stage 4 restrictions but we are yet to receive a formal update from Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) on Operational Guidelines for Schools (what's the bet they come out immediately after I publish this Newsletter).

Other than what everyone is aware of from the Premiers' news conferences and media releases, CECV is yet to send out formal processes to schools. However, I can be a little more specific in regards to our On-site Learning program, namely:

On-site supervision will be available for P-10 students in the following categories, based on revised criteria:

  • children whose parents work in one of the defined essential continuing industries
  • vulnerable children including:
    • children in out-of-home care
    • children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm
    • children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service).
    • children with a disability who also fit one of the above two categories, or where the family is experiencing severe stress.

I do ask that families who have registered for this service now present their 'Permitted Workers Permits' (or guardian where applicable) to myself or Miss Wilkinson when you next drop off your children.

A reminder that staff will be drastically reduced over the coming weeks and will be limited to those supervising the on-site learning program along with leadership and office personnel.

Continuous Learning Program (Remote and Flexible Learning) Phase 4

Over the next few weeks, we will be continuing with the current teaching and learning plan as described in last week's newsletter. Please keep track of your child's timetable as detailed in their Goggle Classroom. Timetables are published on the Friday of the week prior.

What I can announce is that in the latter half of this six week lockdown period we will 'spicing up' the program so please keep an eye on this page. I will provide details next week ... oh the suspense is killing me!

Google Meets

Last week I provided information in regards to the increased amount of live Google Meets now being a prevalent component of our Continuous Learning Program (Remote and Flexible Learning) Phase 4,.

Please see below our formal processes for Google Meets. They provide important information for Parents and Students.

School Closure Day: Staff Development day

A reminder that as stated in previous Newsletters, Monday 17th August has been set aside for a School Closure Day: Pupil Free Day (Staff Professional Development Day) so there will be no on-line or on-site program offered on this day.

Have a wonderful week

Stay safe and God Bless
