Captains' Corner

College Captains Aker Mawith, Tofy Jorissen and Johanna Pastias  (Vice-Captain)

Hi everyone :)

Not far into the term and we are yet again unexpectedly back in lockdown. What we are going through currently as a community and as individuals, will be written down in the history books of the future. For our year 7s to year 10s, nothing much has changed but as for the seniors, we might find it hard to adjust back into the remote learning conditions.

With the new restrictions declared, don’t be discouraged because at the end of this, we can all say we got through 2020! While making sure to not fall behind on assessments and homework for school, don’t forget to catch up with family and friends online and prioritise your health as well.

Soon enough we will be notified on when you will be able to come back onsite briefly to pick up any materials that you may have left behind in your lockers. If anyone has any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to tell any staff and student leaders.

Stay safe and God bless.

At the upcoming assembly I will be making this prayer; I share it with you all here:

                  Great Spirit, Creator of all,

From the stars to all the earth,

Loved and respected be your name,

May it happen that all should live your way,

Following your purpose for all creation.

Enable us to find what we need for today’s journey.

Forgive us when we go wrong

As we forgive those who wrong us.

Have compassion on us when we are being tested,

Do no abandon us fear and evil.

Our hope is in your new community.

You are the One who can transform all creation,

                    Making everything new,

Now and for all eternity.  Amen

Hi everyone,

We are experiencing a lot of change and quite a few setbacks through this first semester. These sorts of things can be difficult for some students to manage, and that’s okay. I just want everyone to know that through this time, you are not alone. We’re all in this together as a college and as a community.

If you are feeling a heavy weight on your shoulders because of the changes going on at the moment, feel free to contact the Leadership team, your house coordinators, or anyone you feel comfortable with talking to. Nothing good ever comes out of bottling things up. Keep your heads up high, we can get through this year without a doubt.

God bless you all and stay safe
