Lismore Library

These are destroyed books outside the flooded Lismore Library in Northern NSW. We can all help re stock their library. I hope you can help; just one new book will be a gift! So here’s a small but powerful way you can get involved in helping restore communities. Purchase a new book and post it to Lismore Library to help them restock or donate funds directly to Lismore Council for their library.

Our library collections affected by the recent flood in Lismore are as follows:

  • Adult Fiction
  • Large Print Books
  • Junior and Young Adult Books
  • Children's DVDs
  • Jigsaws
  • Audio Books
  • Parenting Collection (non-fiction books on parenting topics)
  • Junior Non-Fiction Books

If you would like to donate any new or near new books from any of these categories we would be very grateful.

The address for our Administration office is:

6 Centenary Drive Goonellabah NSW 2480

If items could be sent attention ‘Lismore Library - Flood Donation’ that would be very helpful.

You are also able to make monetary donations to the following Richmond Tweed Regional Library gift account:

How to Support your Teen to Build Healthy Relationships

Do you ever feel out of your depth watching your teen navigate the stormy waters of adolescence? Do you sometimes not know what to say?

Do you want to get together with other parents and share stories to support each other?

Adolescence is a confusing time for teens (and their carers!), as they learn to recognise and build healthy relationships. In these events, we’ll explore how parents can support their teens to navigate these challenges.

Through the power of sharing and feeding back personal stories, Playback Theatre will explore the issues our children are facing in:

• Recognising healthy relationships

• Understanding damaging behaviours, including coercive control

• Fostering healthy friendships and intimate relationships

• Engaging online, including issues of bullying

• Creating healthy boundaries

• Coping with relationship breakdown.

Through transformative, interactive theatre, these two events will empower and enlighten anyone who cares for teenagers (especially those aged 14-16), to better understand the issues they’re facing and support them to build strong, stable relationships.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided before both events. Held at Riverina Playhouse Theatre 8 Cross Street Wagga Wagga.

Click here to book now. Please note that this is not a College activity.

Event 1 - Wednesday 30 March 5:30pm - 7:00pm (5:30pm for 6:00pm start).

Event 2 - Thursday 31 March 5:30pm - 7:00pm (5:30pm for 6:00pm start).

Parenting for Independence

Join Multi-Award Winning Teacher, Author and Parent, Karen - Tui Boyes. Independence starts early with small steps - having children help you with the daily tasks. Tasks might take longer, they may even mess it up and this is all part of the very important learning process. Even if you are parenting teens - it's not too late!

In this session, you will hear about...

  • ways to encourage helpful helpers
  • how to let go of perfectionism
  • strategies to foster a 'pitch-in' mindset
  • ways to praise your child to increase responsibility and independence
  • how to put more fun back into parenting
