AFTT | Acting High School Workshop

Tuesday 12 April 2022, 9:30am - 5:00pm

Academy of Film, Theatre and Television

 

This workshop is a great opportunity to visit our campus and experience the way we teach our students as we showcase acting in a concise one day workshop. This is a very hands on day where students will have a chance to interact, use state of the art equipment and learn new techniques.

 

Explore an introduction to the Morris Technique preparation exercises, coupled with improvisation and script work in the AFTT theatre. You will also have the chance to apply acting techniques whilst performing on camera and collaborating with peers to write, perform and shoot your very own single shot short film.

This is a hands-on day where students will have a chance to interact, use state of the art equipment and learn new techniques.

 

Using AFTT’s industry-standard film gear, students will be taught the basics of film making and post-production workflow. An industry professional tutor will guide them through the process, setting a strong foundation on which they can easily build upon.

AFTT | Theatre Production High School Workshop

Thursday 14 April 2022, 9:30am - 5:00pm

This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in a one day work shop at AFTT. Gain hands-on experience in every facet of Theatre Production, from Stage Management to Lighting & Sound design and operation. 

 

Participants will be guided by our team of professional industry specialists through a step by step process in how to produce a Theatrical Performance, culminating in the hands-on running of the show.

The Best Australian Yarn 2022

The West Australian and Minderoo Foundation present The Best Australian Yarn, a search for Australia’s best short story. It is a celebration of creative writing and the arts across Australia.

 

Everyone has a story to tell, and now we are calling on Australians everywhere to put pen to paper and take part in the world’s richest short story competition for published and unpublished writers.

 

Your story doesn’t have to be long, just 1500 – 2500 words. Anyone can enter – published and unpublished writers, students, anyone over the age of 12. There is a prize pool of $50,000 to be won across a range of categories.

goIT Girls – Virtual Work Experience Program

Tata Consultancy Service’s virtual Work Experience Program, goIT Girls, is open for registrations for female students in years 10 and 11 across Australia in 2022.

 

Students will learn from real executives about the range of exciting STEM roles across the business spectrum and be introduced to key skills and big ideas in the IT industry. The program will enhance confidence and employability in participants. goIT Girls is about inspiring a new generation of innovators, problem solvers and technology leaders.

Choosing Free Resume Templates

When you google free resume or CV templates, quite literally thousands of results come up. You could spend hours of your life just looking through them trying to find one that you like.

 

To save you some time, you could try the free Resume Builder. Find out more on the Study Work Grow page. Or have a look at the free templates the word processing program on your computer has to offer, Word definitely have a couple.

 

And then there’s our current favourite Canva. They have loads of designs to choose from and they’re simple to modify. You will need to sign up for a free account to access them. (Hint: there are also free Canva tutorials available if you’re not sure how to use it).

 

It’s probably best to start off with something simple.
