Parents and Friends Club

On Friday 4th March we had our first official AGM for the Parents and Friends Club, and what a turn out! We were so pleased to welcome so many new faces to the group and left feeling very excited for the year ahead. We are already buzzing with some great plans to make this year one to remember for the school and its community.

The wonderful Nicola Hyde stepped aside as president after 5 years and the group welcomed Georgia Fiske into the role. New member Steph King stepped up as Vice President, with Rachel Lee continuing on as Secretary and Dane Barclay as our new Treasurer.

We would like to thank Nicola for all of her hard work and dedication to the club over the past 5 years. Unfortunately the last 2 years have been hard to navigate with COVID putting a stop to most of our plans. Nicola will still remain an integral part of our team.

Our next catch up will be on Friday 25th March after school drop off at Hello Birdie. We would love to welcome anyone who would like to come along for a coffee and see what we are about and while the younger kids play.

Exciting things ahead!

SAUSAGE SIZZLE

We have already locked in a Term 1 gathering for the whole school, where we will put on a sausage sizzle at the school on Friday 1st April from 3.30.

This will be a great chance for us all to get together and meet some new friends and families from the school (as well as old). Please feel free to bring along a platter of fruit or cheese etc. But no alcohol please.

We will be putting a call out for volunteers on the day to help cook and serve up sausages. If you are available to help please let the admin staff know and we will be in contact.

Sausages will be $1 and a note will go home with an RSVP required by Friday 23rd March for catering purposes.

MOTHERS DAY

Our wonderful art teachers are already working hard with the kids to produce some lovely pieces for the mothers and carers.

The children really enjoyed creating their special pieces for the lucky lady in their lives last year and are already buzzing with excitement.

Like previous years, there will be a $5 fee to go towards these gifts.

We would like to thank Jo and Andrea for pulling this together.

SCHOOL CANTEEN

We have had some very eager students and parents who would love to see a regular school canteen make a comeback to OGPS. We have gathered a Canteen Committee, who are working hard this term to have something ready for Term 2.

PARENTS SOCIAL NIGHT

We are so excited to welcome back a parent's social event! Again, parents have been eager to volunteer to help create a fun night out for our mums and dads. If you would like to join the team or have some ideas we would love your help. Please contact us either by the Parents and Friends Club Facebook page or the school email (ocean.grove.ps@education.vic.gov.au).
