VCE

VCE continues for the second year at units 1&2 in 2022 at the Lakes, with some existing staff stepping up to take on VCE classes as well as some experienced staff joining us from other schools. Since my appointment (late 2020) the College has been instrumental in further employing experienced VCE staff and we now have Stevce, Brad, Thanasi and Lisa offering their knowledge.

It is exciting offering VCE units 3&4 for the first time as the Lakes is finally able to acclaim being a    P-12 college.  Whilst Year 12 staff and students have adapted incredibly to the rigour of the final year of VCE, we have continued to educate and support them in this respect by offering a series of professional development sessions or seminars. In Term 1 these include:

• VCAA/School Policy and Authentication Session (students)
• Procrastination Seminar (students)
• Study Skills Sessions run by ‘Elevate Education’ (students)
• PD on (i) Study Scores& Statistical Moderation (ii) External Assessments & Indicative Grades (iii) VCE Data Service & Adjusted Scores and (iv) Student Longitudinal Progress (staff)
• Meet the Examiner seminars (staff)
• SAC Workshops (staff)

All students have also been set up with a 1:1 interview with our Careers Coordinator, Alyce, to discuss career pathways and requirements.
