National Day Against Violence and Bullying
This year we celebrate 12 years of action for Australia's key bullying prevention initiative, National day Against Bullying and Violence with the theme, Kindness Culture. Kindness is a key element for bullying prevention and promotes inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging. It is an opportunity to teach what is kindness and demonstrate kind behaviour, both of which play important roles in bullying prevention.
This week as a College we decided to focus on the positive and bring Kindness to the community with daily kindness rituals.
- Monday - The impact of a smile
- Tuesday - Slow down and let someone in
- Wednesday – Show someone your appreciation
- Thursday - Offer some help
- Friday - Offer a compliment
The NDA is an opportunity to bring Trinity College community together to send a powerful message that bullying and violence are never okay. Together we can make a change. Everyone has a role to play for bullying prevention!
Humanities Week
This week we celebrated Humanities Week. The week was an opportunity for our students to participate in a series of lunch-time games, challenges and an Amazing Humanities Race. The week provided an excellent opportunity for the Humanities team to encourage creativity, curiosity and collaboration in our subject area. Each morning students were given a Humanities riddle to solve. The speed at which the riddles were solved was outstanding and it was pleasing to see so many eager PCG’s involved.
Year 7 and 8 students took part in the Amazing Humanities Race. In groups of four, they were taken on a historical journey of the school with the goal of solving clues to be crowned winners. Congratulations to the winning teams!

On Friday, the Humanities department rounded off the week with a costume competition. Students were challenged to guess the historical, geographical, political or economic figure, concept or icon. Well done to Oshay Calgaret, Danel De Mattia and James Cridland for correctly guessing all teachers correctly. Can you guess who they are?
Year 8 Digital Technology
This week in 8 Digital Technology the boys have been learning about different photo techniques, and while doing so have taken this great shot in the chapel!
Prefect Perspectives
It’s been another busy week for the Trinity community. This week, we as a Trinity community stepped forward to raise awareness and take action against bullying and violence. The theme for 2022 is Kindness Culture, “By building Kindness Culture together, we can promote inclusion, respect and community belonging for all students.”
In the lead up to the National Day Against Bullying and Violence, we decided to focus on the positive and bring Kindness to the community.
- Monday - The impact of a smile,
- Tuesday - Slow down and let someone in,
- Wednesday – Show someone your appreciation,
- Thursday - Offer some help,
- Friday - offer a compliment.
Some courageous students also took to social media to speak up and spread awareness about bullying and bystander behaviour.
Better late than never! On Tuesday the Year 12 Welcome Assembly took place in Centenary Park. It wasn’t quite the same without parents to celebrate with us, however, as a cohort we are incredibly grateful that an assembly went ahead. And, thanks to the technology we are all learning to get our heads around, the assembly was live streamed for all year groups and parents to see. The Prefects were acknowledged and presented to the College and champion Head Prefect James Watson was finally able to make his inspiring Head Prefect address.
It's becoming a constant theme in our Prefect Perspectives each week but the COVID pandemic continues to impact so many people in so many different ways. And, although it is keeping some of us apart, it is also bringing us together as a stronger community with a stronger spirit. If you or someone you know is currently having to isolate with the virus inside their own home, on behalf of the College we send prayers and support for a quick and safe recovery.
Despite all the interruptions and distractions that 2022 has thrown at us as students, we continue to persevere. We continue to show great resilience and strive to find ways to continue a school journey that we only are given once in our lifetime.
God Bless and I hope everyone enjoys the return of footy this weekend, it’s my favourite time of year.
