Get to know our staff from behind the curtains

Our lovely Year 7 Coordinators share their favourite cuisine, their spirit animal, a superpower they'd like to have and more, just so you can get to know them better.  First, we'll get to know Mr. Daniel Lombardo after which we'll hear advice for Year 7 students from Ms. Madeleine Graham.

Daniel Lombardo, LP7 Coordinator

Imagine you’re student for a day, which other Year 7 teacher’s class would you enrol into?

I would have a blast being in any of the Year 7 classes – brilliant teachers who are so great at what they do! I’d certainly make sure I’d sign up for Ms Sevior’s Drama class

If you were trapped on a deserted island and you could only take 3 things, what would you take?

The three things I would need on a deserted island would be chocolate 🍫, my iPad loaded up with books 📚 and comics, and my puppy Dolly 🐶.

What’s your favourite cuisine?

Favourite cuisine is Italian – I love pasta in any shape or form! 🍝

What’s your spirit animal?

My spirit animal is the whale 🐋– they always seem calm and purposeful, are good communicators and keep family central and important to their lives.

What advice do you have for middle school students transitioning into high school?

My advice is to take things slow - don’t be in too big a rush to become a fully-fledged adult! Enjoy being a teenager and take every day one at a time with optimism and determination. And don’t be afraid to ask for help! You spend so much of your waking hours at school, your teachers are only happy to give you assistance and advice to support you.

Madeleine Graham,  LP7 Coordinator

If you had a superpower, which one would it be and why?

Definitely teleportation – I love to travel and like most people dislike sitting in traffic.

What is the last thing you google searched?

Kahoot!

What’s a fun fact about you that no one knows?

If I tell you everybody would know 🤫

What advice do you have for middle school students transitioning into high school?

Your year 7 teachers love all things colour coordinating and organisation so please follow our advice when it comes to labelling all of your items and bringing everything on the booklist to get organised sooner rather than later. I would also say to be ready and open to the idea that friendships will change…you will meet new people who you grow close today and perhaps move away from people you used to spend every day with and that’s okay.
