AUSTRALIAN RESEARCH ALLIANCE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH CONFERENCE
The Council of Catholic School Parents is pleased to have been chosen to give a presentation on parent engagement at the upcoming ARACY Parent Engagement Conference in Melbourne in June.
As part of the presentation we will include parents' views on their engagement in their child's education - do they know what it is, do they value it, etc. obtained through a survey. We would like to know what you as a parent/carer think about parent engagement - what is it? is it worthwhile? can I do it?
Here is a link to the online survey. We really want to know what your view as parent engagement in their child's learning is emerging as one of the most important areas of research. Thank you for your support.
NATIONALLY CONSISTENT COLLECTION OF DATA (NCCD) ON SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITY
We are committed to the provision of the best possible learning environment for all of our students at Mater Dei. Schools have been asked to ensure that parents/carers are aware that the Australian Government has put into place the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data. This is an annual collection that counts the number of school students receiving an adjustment due to disability and the level of reasonable adjustment they are receiving.
Schools are required to make reasonable adjustments, where needed, to assist students with a disability in accessing and participating in education free from discrimination and on the same basis as other students.
The national data collection counts students who have been identified by a school team as receiving an adjustment to address a disability as defined under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
