FOUNDERS DAY MASS
Founders Day Mass was celebrated last Wednesday. We were so fortunate to have our three living founders, Archbishop Carroll, Sister Barbara Webber and Brother Carl Sherrin in attendance. We were also fortunate to have Pat Connell, relation of Sister Rosarie Connell join us.
The theme of the Mass was "Peace I Give You". Our community looked at ways in which can advocate for peace through the example of our Founders and Patrons.
YEAR 8 CAMP
A reminder that Year 8 Camp permission notes are overdue. Please see the Permission Note below. You can email the office or bring your note in.
REFUGEE WEEK
Next week is refugee week. Refugee Week raises awareness about the issues affecting refugees and celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society. It takes courage to be a refugee. Refugees have faced persecution because of who they are - their race, nationality or membership of a persecuted group, or what they believe - their religion or political opinion, refugees need courage.
One way you can engage in refugee week is by helping us by donating curtains to our Vinnies Winter Appeal.
WINTER APPEAL
The Winter Appeal continues. Can you help our local refugees? See the poster for more details. Donations can brought into the front office by Friday 23 June 2017 (Week 9).
REFUGEE WEEK PRAYER
We pray for peace,
We pray for those whose lives have been turned upside down by the war.
Give those who have lost family members
the space to grieve and the capacity to grieve well;
Give those who have fled the violence places of safety and protection,
communities in which they can thrive and begin to hope again.
We pray particularly for the refugees being resettled in Wagga.
May our Wagga community be open, gracious and welcoming.
Finally we pray for ourselves, that you may open our hearts and the hearts of all
Australians to their fellow human beings who are suffering around the world.
Grant us an ever-increasing compassion, ever-increasing wisdom,
and ever increasing willingness to be their neighbour.
AMEN.
