1/2 Pink with Miss Cato

TWOSday

In math, 1/2 pink learned that 22.02.2022 is both a palindrome and an ambigram! This means that when you read the number, it is the same forwards, backwards and even upside down when you put it into a calculator! We celebrated Twosday with a special song, at 2:22pm.

3/4 Aqua with Mrs Schaefer

In Maths, 3/4 Aqua have been learning about multiplication and making arrays. They have been using counters to make arrays, and working out how many squares in an array. They then put them all together to make a robot. Learning about arrays is helping to learn multiplication facts.

Term 1 is flying by and 3/4 Lime have settled into their new year so well. In Mathematics we have been learning about arrays and the relationship between multiplication and division. We have become very capable of counting in a variety of counting patterns and have recently started to learn some of our times tables. We also had a very delicious Mathematics lessons last week, after we collected some data using M&M's and collated our data into a column graph.  In Geography we have been studying the map of Australia and we used some drawing and shading techniques to create artworks on one of Australia's famous landmarks, Uluru. In the coming weeks we will be working hard to develop persuasive pieces of text that use a variety of persuasive techniques, such as, high modality words and rhetorical questions.
