Principal's Report

Mr McClare is unwell this week so instead our Principal Report page is given over to a very special announcement from our Junior School Council, and a celebration and congratulations to Harry S!

Congratulations to Harry S (Grade 6) for being selected to represent Victoria in the Team Vic boys 12 years and under cricket team. Harry will represent School Sport Victoria at the School Sport Australia Championships, SA from 17 November to 24 November. 

These championships offer gifted and talented students the opportunity to participate in higher levels of sporting competition against students from other Australian States and Territories.  

This a massive sporting achievement, and we are all very proud of Harry. We wish him all the best with his preparations in the lead up to the championships.

FOOD DRIVE on FOOTY MATHS DAY

A food drive is a way that we can make a difference for families that live in our area. It is when a group of people work together to collect food items for people who really need it. An organisation called Wesley Uniting help people in the Ringwood area who are sometimes homeless or in desperate need for basic food and personal items. In that past year 11,000 people have used the Wesley Uniting service.

As a JSC we decided we could do something to help. So, on Footy Dress Up Day on Thursday September the 19th as well as wearing your team colours and a number on your back we would like to encourage you to donate and bring in a non-perishable food item or personal item to donate to the Wesley Uniting pantry. 

As Christmas approaches they need to stock up their supplies. You could bring food that lasts a long time like….

• Pasta, pasta sauce, tinned vegetables, baked beans, spaghetti, salt or pepper, cereal and cup noodles are great.
• Tooth brushes, toothpaste and deodorant would also be great.

Let’s try and fill as many of these purple boxes as possible. The purple boxes are in the office foyer area ready to be filled up. If you would like to bring your donation in before footy day you can, otherwise please bring something along on Footy Day. If we all contribute something little we will be able to make a big difference.
