Family Engagement in Learning News

'St Anthony’s Primary school has drawn on Australian and International research which shows that children tend to do better in school, stay longer in school and enjoy school more, when schools, families and community groups work together to support learning.'

Catholic Secondary School Expo

On Tuesday evening we had our second ever Catholic Secondary School Expo. The evening was attended by some of our local catholic secondary schools including St. John’s College, Dandenong, Nazareth College, Noble Park North, Killester College, Springvale, Sacred Heart Girls’ College, Oakleigh and Salesian College, Chadstone. Mazenod College, Mulgrave was unable to attend however information was provided for parents to take home.

The light refreshments for the evening were kindly prepared by the students at Killester College and donated to us by the school. We thank Killester for this generous contribution to our event.

The students at Sacred Heart Girls’ College also performed some live music on the night which created a lovely atmosphere for the expo.

It was lovely to see many of our parents and families attend the expo as well as some families from Resurrection and St. Gerard’s primary schools. It was wonderful to hear feedback from families about how the expo helped them to have access to multiple secondary schools in one location, to support their journey of selecting a secondary school for their child. We thank all of the families for attending and hope you have gained some clarity around which secondary school you may like to choose for your child.

Thank you also to our two wonderful Grade 5 student leaders, Gemma and Nicole, who were amazing representatives for our school as they energetically and cheerfully welcomed all of our visitors and families to the expo.
