New Art!
A big thanks to local artist Vivianne Smith, who kindly created a beautiful dot painting for us representing the Kamilaroi area. The art will be displayed in front of the school in the coming weeks. Make sure to check out our Facebook page for further updates.
Science Week Activities
Last Thursday, St Joseph's celebrated Science Week, with the theme 'Destination Moon: more missions, more science'. Students enjoyed the day creating paper straw rockets, playing with MaKey MaKey's and launching bottle rockets!
St Joseph's Got Talent
Last week, students from infants and primary participated in St Joseph's Got Talent. It was great to see the children have a go and show us their amazing talents! Special thanks to Stage 3 and Miss Robertson for organising the event.
Book Week Parade, Book Fair & Picnic
Just a reminder that the Book Week parade will be held next Tuesday 27 August at 9:30 AM. Students are invited to dress up as a book character or in a costume to match the 2019 Book Week theme ‘Reading is My Secret Power’. We will also be holding a Book Fair after the Book Week Parade for parents and children to purchase books under the COLA area, as well as a picnic (so please remember to pack some morning tea for you and your children!).
Father's Day Breakfast and Stall Volunteers needed
We are in need of volunteers for both the Father's Day Breakfast (7:30 - 9 AM) and the Father's Day Stall (10:00 AM) next Friday 30 August.

Father's Day Stall
Next Friday 30 August the St Joseph's P & F will be running a Father's Day Stall. There will be gifts available to purchase for $5 and $10, so please remember to send in money with your child on the day.
Father's Day Breakfast
The St Joseph's P & F will be holding a Father's Day Breakfast next Friday 30 August from 7:30 AM to 9 AM. All families are welcome to join us for a breakfast of bacon and egg rolls, coffee, tea, and milo.
Stage 3 Canberra Excursion Parent Information Night
Just a reminder that the Stage 3 Parent Information Night for their upcoming excursion to Canberra will be held next Tuesday 27 August at 6:00 PM in the Stage 3 classroom. Hope to see you all there!
Wellbeing Week
In Week 7, Monday 2 September to Friday 6 September, we will be holding a wellbeing week at St Joseph's. More information about the event will be sent home and available to view via SkooBag and Facebook on Monday, 26 August.
