Learning In My Level - 5/6

A celebration of what's happening across the school!

What a week the 5s and 6s have had!!! From the Summit… to the hub! It was a jam packed, fun filled week!

While the 6s were exploring, stepping out of their comfort zones, getting muddy, facing their fears and getting active, our 5s enjoyed activities in the hub. There was a Gothic Fiction themed, Maths Escape Room where students worked in groups to explore 5 different rooms around the classroom, problem solving their way through lots of clues and a variety of maths questions. Did they escape?! Some did…!

Students also worked in small, collaborative teams to build a shelter to house their group members with only masking tape and one newspaper. These shelters needed to be free standing so it required a lot of planning, team work and engineering. There was also activities like the ‘Longest Chain’, a mini comic book, movies, board games and trivia.

We have had such a great week, working with different peers and teachers. It is going to be hard to return to the normality of the classroom. Our main focus back in the classroom is to finalise their Student Led Inquiry Projects. Students will be hosting an exhibition in week 9 to showcase their learning this term: The future in 2063!
