Today is a great day to be you!

Resilience and eSmart Superhero Day

On the final day of Term 2, Friday June 23rd, we are holding our annual Resilience and eSmart Superhero Celebration Day!

We encourage all of our students, staff (and parents/carers if you would like to get into the spirit of the day!) to dress up as a superhero. It could be an 'everyday hero', such as a firefighter or a nurse, or a 'superhero', such as a students' favourite Marvel character. In the past, we have also seen some wonderful personal creations, such as 'Captain Kindness'.

The day will run as follows:

  • 9:15am-10:45am: Whole School Assembly in the gym (including costume parade)
  • 12:00pm-1:30pm: Buddy Grade activities, focused on The Resilience Project, RRRR or eSmart.
  • 2:00pm-2:30pm: Back in regular classrooms for end of term pack up / goodbyes.

Please remember that Friday June 23rd has an early 2:30pm home time.

Year 6 Camp

What an amazing week for our Year 6 students at The Summit Camp from June 5th-9th!

We were very fortunate with the weather over the five days - thankfully it was sunny and dry for the large majority of the time away. Our Year 6 students shared in so many incredible experiences and we were so proud of their efforts over the duration of the camp.

The Summit is a camp designed to really challenge and push students out of their comfort zone. The activities on offer test the mental fortitude even more than physical capabilities - facing fears of heights, the dark, confined spaces and the unknown. Our students set their own personal goals - using the camp's terminology of 'target, stretch and super stretch' - and we were blown away across the week of ALL students not only meeting their goals, but far exceeding them.

The activities included:

  • The Summit Window
  • Tash's Ladder
  • Bush Challenge
  • Laser Skirmish
  • Leap of Faith
  • Abseiling
  • Giant Swing
  • Orienteering
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Tribe Identity
  • Inflatable City
  • Rock Climbing
  • Sky Bridge
  • The Cave

The camp culminated with the famous Mud Run - essentially a 'Tough Mudder' course for students. The resilience, effort, leadership, support and teamwork that was on show during this event was wonderful to witness. They really lived up to some of the key values on this camp, particularly "Get comfortable being uncomfortable" and "Don't go home wondering 'what if?'"

Despite coming home extremely tired, our students learned so much about their own capabilities and the things they can achieve when they really put their mind to it. We know this group of students will hold on to such fond memories of their Year 6 camp for many years to come.

A huge thank you to all staff and parents who attended the camp. Without your support, these opportunities simply wouldn't be possibly.

The Resilience Project

Please find an activity idea from TRP below that might be fun to complete with your children over the coming school holidays.
