Principal's Report

Flexible. Resilient. Positive. 2023

What a fabulous two weeks we have had at Rangeview! Level 3 and Level 4 had the Dome Incursion, our Parents & Friends Committee ran two hugely successful hot food lunch days, each teaching level had a planning day to prepare for Term 4, our whole school completed their Semester 1 Reports, and Level 6 attended the week long outdoor adventure camp - The Summit!

Reports

Our Rangeview Semester One Reports will be available from 3.30pm tonight via the Parent Portal COMPASS platform. We encourage all families to access their child's report and discuss with them their learning and progress.

Student Led Conferences

We will be holding our Student Led Conferences on Monday 19th and Wednesday 21st June - next week. Please book in for a conference using the Parent Portal COMPASS platform and see the Teaching and Learning page of this newsletter for more details on these conferences.

We hope all of our wonderful Rangeview families have a fabulous night.

Level 6 Camp - The Summit

Last week 82 students headed off to The Summit adventure camp in Trafalgar East. We were very lucky to have amazing weather with balmy 18 degree days and only a short burst of rain. Students participated in a huge range of activities including abseiling, rock climbing, flying fox, giant swing and a Monster Mud Run!

We wish to thank the wonderful parents who came to assist this camp - our first parent camp helpers at Rangeview! Clint Anderson, Joyce Reeves, Jess McKay, Brad Cullen and Simon Davies. The camp could not have gone ahead without you all.

We also wish to thank the teachers and support staff who attended for all or part of the week - Mitch Clark, Tegan Cant, Sam Anderson, Natalie Morrissey, Meg Hubbard, Tania Balderston, Alex Campbell, Michelle Madden, David McKinlay (pre-service teacher), Liam Sommers and myself. We were also very thrilled to see that many of the 5/6 teaching team came up to the camp (in their own time) to run night activities for the students! What a wonderful school and staff we have.

P&F Hot Food Lunches

A huge thank you to the P&F Committee and the Level 2 families for running the hot food lunches this week. Levels F - 2 had their pies and sausage rolls on Tuesday and Levels 3 - 6 on Thursday. The parents created a well oiled production line in the gym kitchen and it was lovely to see so many students enjoying a hot lunch.

Their Care

As you are aware we are moving to a new before and after school care provider - TheirCare. TheirCare are commencing from the first day of the school holidays and will be running our school holiday program. Details of the holiday program were sent home as a paper flyer last week.

Please remember that you need to sign up for the new service with TheirCare using this link   https://theircare.com.au/

You will need your own CRN and your child's CRN for your enrolment. These numbers are provided by Centrelink and if you currently use the OSH Club service, can also be found on your OSH Club account page.  Once you have made bookings with TheirCare you can link your child's CRN account to TheirCare. Details of how to do this have been emailed to all families. This step is essential to begin receiving the Child Care Subsidy. Families will not be invoiced by TheirCare until the subsidies are in place.

Planning Week

At the end of Terms 1, 2 and 3, we run a planning week for all our levels. Students participate in their specialist classes all on one day and the teaching team is released to meet and plan collaboratively for the coming Term. We hope our students have enjoyed their day of specialist learning, our teaching reams have all been working hard to create the unit outlines, book excursions and incursions, prepare learning activities and get ready for the new course materials.

Final Day Term 2 & First Day Back Term 3

The last day of Term 2 will be next week Friday 23rd June. This is our Resilience and eSmart Celebration Day and we encourage all students to come in a superhero costume. There will be a morning assembly from 9.15am in the gym and there is a 2.30pm dismissal time on that day. OSH Club is available for any families that require care.

The first day of Term 3 is Monday 10th July. We look forward to seeing all of our students back for another term of learning and fun.
