Thaumatropes by Year 2

Thaumatropes (thaw-ma-tropes) were a popular toy in the 1800s. They create an illusion by spinning two images together.
Why not make your own like the Year 2 students did during their Art lesson.
What You Need :
*Paper or Card
*A glass or cup for tracing
*Scissors
*Pencils/Markers
*Sticky Tape/Glue
*Blu Tack (Optional )*Straw, Pencil or Stick
What to do:
*Draw 2 circles on your paper/card.
*Cut them out. One will be the front and the other the back of your thaumatrope.
*Draw your Images.
*Attach your straw, pencil or stick to the back of one of your circles.
Lay the other circle over the top and stick/glue down.
* Hold the end of the stick/straw between your palms & SPIN quickly!
