Japanese Quiz Day

On Thursday in week 7, we went to the Year 6 Japanese Quiz Day. There were 9 people from our school including Lahni B, Hollee B, Jordana B, Alia F, Elise M, Elise L, Owen P, Conor R and Jessie S.

It was a really fun day and we answered many questions. For some of the questions we had to read Japanese words and write what we thought the words said. We were happy that we knew lots of the words. We got to wear a happi coat which is a festival coat. Toomey Sensei told us that you always wear the left side of the jacket over the right because right over left means that you are dead.

When we got there we were all put into teams with people from other schools so we could work together. We also got a participation award including a little Japanese lolly. After all of the quizzes, we got a box of pocky and then they announced who won. We were all excited when we heard that one of the Greenwith teams came third out of 10 schools.

The Japanese quiz day was so fun and we wish we could do it again next year.
