Naa marni (are you all well?)

This year from the 2nd to the 9th of July is NAIDOC week, a week to display or discover the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal Australians. The theme for this year is 'For our Elders', as the Elders are the Lore and knowledge keepers in the Aboriginal community who give us guidance.

In Aboriginal Culture classes, we watched a video on Eldership and brainstormed what it was to be an Elder and what we value. From there our students wrote and drew people who play the role of an Elder in their lives, and they have done an awesome job.

Well done to our 2 Aboriginal students Tyler B and Winter C for being brave and reading our Acknowledgment of Country at assembly on Thursday, and a big congratulations Kiana for earning a CORE award!

I hope you all have a nice holiday break, nakutha! (see you later!)
