From the Leadership Team

Dear parents and carers,

What an action-packed term 2 we had! We are very pleased with the wide range of activities and experiences the students have engaged in which you will read about in this newsletter.

There is a lot to look forward to in term 3 including Footy Colours Day, Book Week, Footsteps dance program, Way2Go Bike Ed for year 5 students and Festival of Music.

Semester one reports

The semester one mid-year reports are now available online. Please refer to the email sent on Tuesday for instructions to access the reports.

Student progress conferences

On Wednesday, students were given printed information to take home regarding student progress conferences in week 3 of term 3. Teachers indicated on the letter if a conference is requested, or if it is at the parent/carers discretion.

Conferences are now available to book via this link

The school event code is: jrajy

Bookings close on Thursday, 3 August at 08:30 am

School hats

Hats are back from the start of term 3. As per our Sun Smart policy, school hats are to be worn in terms 1, 3 and 4. For further information, view the policy on the school website.

Skoolbag app

Please be aware that one of our school communication platforms, Skoolbag, has upgraded and is now known as Audiri.

We understand that this change might be challenging, but we want to assure you that nothing much has changed. The only difference is that the platform has a new name, and your username and password will stay the same - the only thing you may need to do is update the app on your phone when prompted by the app store.

School crossing - safety reminder

GPS staff and year 5/6 students have the opportunity each year to participate in SAPOL training and volunteer to operate the school crossing on Golden Grove Rd. We are so grateful for their attention and hard work (often in wild weather for staff) to keep our community safe.

Please remember to take extra care around our campus; slow down and observe the traffic monitor's instructions.

Staffing update

We have some important news and some temporary changes in our leadership team to share with you.

Our Deputy Principal, Sara Slater, will continue as Acting Principal at Wynn Vale Primary School until the end of term 3 this year. To cover Sara's absence, Dani Schina will continue in the role of Acting Deputy Principal and Alison Warner will continue in the role of Acting Assistant Principal - Learner Engagement and Wellbeing.

Kylie Robinson will continue in the role of Coordinator - Student Wellbeing on Thursdays, whilst Alison is in the role of Acting Assistant Principal. Zane Welfare-Donaldson will continue to cover for Kylie in PE on Thursdays.

We are pleased to share that Brianna Hockley will continue to teach 1305 and 1306 in semester two. Brianna teaches in 1305 on Thursdays and Fridays and 1306 on Wednesdays. Keely Lyons will continue to teach 1405 and 1406 in semester two. Keely teaches in 1405 on Fridays and 1406 on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Vera Deluca will be returning from long service leave at the start of term 3 to teach 409. We thank Chelsea McClintock for her care and commitment in semester 1, she will certainly be missed by the students in 409. Chelsea has been appointed to teach the students in 302 full-time in term 3.

Greg Custance & Jane Wright will not be returning from leave to Greenwith Primary School. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their service to our school, spanning over 37 years collaboratively.

Sadly, we farewell Renae Simpson at the end of this term. Thank you to Renae for her care and commitment to 302 this year, she will be missed by students and staff.

We also farewell Emma Fuller who has been teaching the students in 402 on Mondays this semester. Emma is also contracted at another school and due to her teaching partner taking maternity leave, the school has asked Emma to increase her time to cover this leave. I am pleased to welcome April O’Brien who will be teaching alongside Nadene Staporski on Mondays in semester two.
