Jump Rope For Heart

Coming home strong!  At the time of publishing, with just over 24 hours left before the end of fundraising, our school's total was at $3,827! Congratulations to all of those students and families that have helped raise funds for the Heart Foundation.

I have been so impressed by the students' enthusiasm and perseverance this week. Our school skipping ropes have been in high demand during breaks as students work to perfect new skills and tricks.  Students have also been out skipping with their classroom teachers and during P.E. sessions. There is no shortage of excitement ahead of tomorrow's JUMP OFF Day.  Parents and carers who would like to join us for the Jump Off are welcome to come at 11:30 tomorrow morning.  Depending on the weather, we'll either be out on the netball court (fingers crossed!) or in the undercover area.

Remember that tomorrow is a casual dress day (the theme is "Sporty Clothes") and students are encouraged to bring a gold coin (or 2!) to donate to the Heart Foundation. Students should wear clothing and footwear that will be comfortable for skipping.

It is not too late* to register and raise funds for the Heart Foundation. Head to:  www.jumprope.org.au/parents

*Fundraising will close at 5pm on Friday the 23rd of June.

Mount Beauty Primary School is participating in Jump Rope for Heart this term – a fantastic fundraising and physical activity program by the Heart Foundation.

Students have already started skipping and, over the coming weeks, they will continue to learn new skills, increase their physical activity, and learn about heart health. The program will end with our ‘Jump Off Day’ when students will have the opportunity to show off their new skipping skills.

You can now register students at   https://www.jumprope.org.au/parents

Ellen's class did a fantastic job working together to learn the art of twirling a longer rope. They also discussed what happens to their heart rate when they are feeling puffed.
