St Edward's NAIDOC Week 2023 Assembly - For Our Elders
Yaama families and community,
We send a warm invitation to our families and Elders to join us for our NAIDOC Week Assembly on Wednesday 9th August at the Primary Campus.
Our Welcome to Country and flag raising ceremony will begin at 12:30pm in the quadrangle space between the Office and Library at the Primary Campus. We will then move to the Hall to follow with our NAIDOC Assembly that will then be finished with a light lunch with our families and Elders.
We look forward to seeing our community come together to celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community and Elders.
REMINDER:
We are asking for images of your child with their Elder/s or anyone they look up to in their Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. These images will be placed into a video that will be played during our NAIDOC Week Assembly.
Images to be sent to bcloake2@arm.catholic.edu.au by Friday 28th July.
Maarubaa,
(thankyou)
Yaluu!
Word of the Week
Each time a student uses our "Word of the Week" in the classroom they will be awarded a point and the student with the most points at the end of the term will receive a book to further expand their vocabulary.
Term 2 Winner
A 'colossal' congratulations to Aleah Edgecock for winning our Term 2 'Word of the Week' competition. Aleah won this competition since she used our words most often (a massive 10 times) in context throughout the term. What a 'logophile' and as a result she has received a 'captivating' book as her prize. Well done Aleah!
We will publish our Word of the Week on Facebook and in the newsletter. Please support your child to use this word at home.
