Foundation Enrolments for 2024

Each year we are so excited by the amount of enthusiasm and positive feedback we receive from future families wanting to enrol their child in Foundation at Newlands Primary School. 

 

Starting school is a very exciting and busy time for children, parents and school staff. To ensure you stay informed about enrolment processes and important dates, please refer to the information below and stay up to date with administración news.

  • The official Department of Education enrolment submission date is Friday the 28th of July. However, in order to assist us in ensuring we can best prepare you, your child and their future teachers for important transition dates, we are asking families to please submit their enrolments by the end of next week. This is particularly important if you do not live within the School Catchment Zone (Find my School).
  • You will be notified of the outcome of your enrolment application no later than Friday the 11th of August.

    

Camps, Swimming and Excursions Fund (CSEF)

Parents and Carers who hold a valid Concession Card are eligible for CSEF support. This is funding provided by the government annually for eligible families to use towards camps, swimming and excursions. 

 

Eligible families can apply for this funding by obtaining a form from the office and providing a copy of their healthcare card. 

 

PLEASE NOTE: The cut-off date for CSEF applications is Wednesday the 21st of June. This is date is strictly enforced by the Department of Education and office staff are unable to accept submissions after this date.

Absences, late arrivals and early departures

If your child is going to be absent, arriving after 9:00am or you need to collect them before 3:30pm, you can notify the office and their teacher via the 'Absences' tab on the 'Sentral for Parents' app. 

 

An administration staff member will approve your absence request, which will notify your child's teacher and allow office and teaching staff to ensure your child does not receive an 'unexplained absence' on their attendance record and that they are ready with their belongings for early departures.  When arriving late or departing early, please use the Ipad in the front office to sign your child in/out.

Sentral Payments

 

When it comes to paying for an excursion, incursion, camp or special event, this is done via the 'Payments' tab on the Sentral for Parents app. 

 

There you will find any activities allocated to your child and you can follow the prompts to make payment. 

HANDY TIP: You can make payments for multiple activities at once on Sentral. This can be done by selecting one or more activity allocated to your child before proceeding to payments.
