School Wide Positive Behaviour

The Staughton Student Matrix is a framework for teaching our students about the behaviours that lead to success. The social skills associated with learning, effort and respectful behaviour have been a really important focus for us this term. At this stage of the term teachers are assessing student learning growth over the first semester that often means final assessments including exams and practice exams. The effort and learning behaviours in our matrix are particularly important at this time. Effort in particular is the most important predictor of success at school. I am proud of the effort of many of our students every day. I also encourage any students who could increase their effort to do so now. It is not too late to have an impact. Over the journey from year 7 to year 12 students experience assessment conditions in tests and exams that help them prepare for senior assessment conditions in exams and the General Achievement Test (GAT). Senior students will sit the GAT this Thursday.
