TheirCare

Dear Families of TheirCare,

Welcome back to Term 3.

We hope this email finds you well. We are writing to inform you about an important change in our drop-off and pick-up procedures for prep students at TheirCare, effective immediately for the upcoming Term 3 and moving forward every year start of Term 2.

After careful consideration and in alignment with our commitment to fostering independence and responsibility among our prep students, we have made the decision to transition to a new procedure. Starting Term 3, children in prep will be encouraged to walk themselves over to TheirCare instead of being accompanied by TheirCare educators immediately after the school bell rings at 8.45 am and pick up at 3.30 pm.

We believe that encouraging our Prep students to take this step towards independence will have several positive benefits, including:

Foster Responsibility: Walking themselves to TheirCare will promote a sense of responsibility and self-reliance among our prep students, allowing them to develop essential life skills.

Confidence Building: This transition will empower our prep students by providing them with the opportunity to navigate the short walk to TheirCare, thus enhancing their confidence and self-esteem.

Peer Interaction: Walking together to TheirCare will encourage prep students to interact with their peers, fostering social connections and building relationships.

We understand that this change may raise questions or concerns, and we want to assure you that we have taken several precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of all our children during this process. Please take note of the following details:

Supervision: TheirCare staff will be stationed along the walking route to monitor and support the students as they make their way to TheirCare.

Safety Measures: We have implemented additional safety measures, including designated walking paths, clear signage, and communication channels with school staff to ensure a secure environment.

Orientation Session: An orientation session during morning/afternoon meeting at TheirCare will be conducted for all children in prep this week for the transition. This session will provide a detailed overview of the walking route, safety guidelines, and answer any questions they may have.

We kindly request your support and collaboration in preparing your child for this transition. You can assist by:

Discussing the change: Take the time to talk with your child about the new procedure, emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility, safety, and independence.

Practice walks: We encourage you to take a few practice walks with your child along the designated route, gradually building their familiarity and confidence.

Communication: If you have any specific concerns or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to address any questions or provide the necessary assistance.

We believe that this change will contribute positively to the growth and development of our prep children, fostering valuable life skills and independence. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement this new procedure.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment.

Sincerely,

Yasmina Simmons | Coordinator | Parkdale
