Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 2!

I hope that you loved the break as much as I did, the weather at Phillip Island was magnificent! I had the chance to catch up with family, eat way too much food, enjoy a few drinks, walk the beaches with my dog and generally recharge the batteries. Loved it!

The second week I was mainly in the office here, but that is the same for all staff, as they begin the preparation work for this term.

Speaking of this term …….. look out ! This term is going to be busy, so pay attention.

We have a series of events occurring and many of them will involve YOU!

The dates to remember section is really important – Please check it regularly.

Coming up:

  • The student AtoSS (Attitude to School Survey) started rolling out Monday the 26th April
  • 3 x Consultation Nights for parents to have a voice in the College - This is an opportunity to discuss what’s working well, what’s not and what’s a bit messy!
  • Grade 5 and 6 Information evening (Year 7 -2022)
  • NAPLAN will run across a 2 week period in May (Year 7 and 9)
  • Autumn Music concert night
  • 3 x Senior Course Information / Counselling nights
  • The GAT (General Assessment Task) for our senior students will occur in June. This will have 3 phases.
  • Semester change over from 1 to 2 during the last 2 weeks of term, a series of exams and of course reports to be written!

So, to state the obvious – you can be a huge support to your children by being across 'What’s happening, when it’s happening and the target group involved'.

If we work together, we will achieve all the goals of these events and ultimately end up with the best outcomes for your children.

If you want more information about any of these events, just give the office a call. Plus as each draws closer, we will deliver more information in greater detail.

Year 7 Community Consultation night, what a fantastic event this was last night! 😊  (Check out the pictures)

Thanks so much to all the College staff, Year 7 parents and area Principals who came along to support the night. We explored loads of topics from transition, to communication, to worries concerns and successes.  The feedback received will be collated, then the leadership team will work our way through the information and set new goals accordingly.

Remember this is all about opportunities for parents to have a voice – so please lock in next Wednesday (5th May 2021) for the 8 and 9 night and Thursday (6th May 2021) for the 10, 11 and 12 night.

Start time is 7.00 pm and finish will be around 8.15 pm. Give me a call if you would like more info!

I’m really looking forward to our work this term. I feel that the College is well placed to really start to make big strides forward. There will never be a time that there is not more work to be done, but we are definitely 'on the way'.

Always happy to chat.
