Virtual Education Week

How can we can we celebrate Education Week in 2021? Virtually of course. We can’t open schools and classrooms for everyone to come together at once but we are planning the sharing of our school with the community in a unique 2021 way. Look out for the news about this.

ANZAC badges

There have been a huge response to the sale of the badges and other ANZAC items through the week. Well done. All proceeds go to the ANZAC appeal.

Thanks everyone

2021 NAPLAN

Students in level 3 and 5 are being supported in the preparation for the up coming tests in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy in week 4. A letter will be sent home to all the families in grade 3 and 5 explaining the process.

All students across the state have been impacted by 2020 and our focus has been to help each student to give it their best on the day. It is certainly not the only way we measure student achievement and engagement. Our teachers work to develop the whole child, building their confidence to have a go and be successful.

Our Fabulous Library Renovation- another holiday project

New carpet and paint

Non fiction and fiction books together

What a difference paint, new carpet and shelves on wheels does. Many books have been moved to rearrange the shelves in the library and open the space up to allow adults to use the space for meetings and students to access the resources. The aim is for a more flexible space.

Lynette Ellis has had the daunting task of pulling this together and we are looking forward to the grand opening very soon. It is looking very cool and the students and excited about the space and being able to borrow books again.

Invitation to Parents to Attend Assemblies

We can now have parents in limited numbers at the junior and senior assemblies starting this week. If you child is receiving an award or presentation, you will be able to attend the assembly in person. There will be a QR Code to fill in.

There are many ways to be involved in school and your child's education. The Flora and Fauna program needs parent help each week. Or you may have a skill that could be helpful. just give us a call or talk to your teacher.

I remind all parents visiting the site to help in classrooms need to carry a mask, use hand sanitiser and log into the Sentral kiosk which is located at the front office..

Student Leadership Day

Grade 6 students had a special leadership day with a focus on being a leader and how to encourage others. Great activities throughout the day building teamwork and resilience. No good leader does it alone and needs to build the capacity and confidence of others.

And we are up
Learning to work together
