Principal's Message

Good afternoon Parents and Carers,

How differently school life looks, sounds and feels from this time last year.  It has been wonderful to see our students engaged in a range of sporting opportunities and school events without COVID-19 having too much of an impact on staff, parents and students.

Thank you to all our families that have supported our Student Learning Meetings (Date with Data) over the past two evenings.  These 'Student Learning' meetings are another strategic school improvement initiative to provide parents with both quantitative and qualitative learning data on their child, along with the identification of explicit learning goals to move their learning to deeper/higher levels.  These meetings were offered in addition to the regular end of Semester 1 parent teacher interviews, which will be held early in Term 3.   Thank you to our Leaders of Learning for their dedication and commitment to our students through their analysis of learning data to identify rich and relevant goals for our students.  A survey will be made available to all families who attended to provide the school with valuable feedback regarding this new 'Student Learning' initiative, to help us refine and improve the process.

Our P&F Committee (and helpers) have been extremely busy over the past few weeks, preparing for a number of fundraising events for the school.  Last Friday the P&F hosted a very successful Trivia Night, testing the intellectual capacities of approximately 80 trivia buffs.  A special thank you to all the business houses for their generous donations, and contributions towards the event.  Lots of incredible prizes were on offer.  A special thank you also to Mr David Watts for being our Quiz Master for the evening.  Thank you for your time, energy and humour.  All in attendance had a wonderful evening.

With Mother's Day fast approaching I would like to thank the P&F, and in particular Allison Turner and her team of helpers for their time and energy to ensure our students had the opportunity to buy their mums (or significant female carer) something special for Mother's Day.  These special events would not be possible without the active support of our P&F Community.

Finally, I would like to wish all our mums, grandmas, and significant female carers an incredible Mother's Day on Sunday.  I hope you are thoroughly spoilt.
